The Southport Associates gathered on November 14th to celebrate Mass for all deceased Sisters of Mercy and their Associates. During the Mass, which was celebrated by Fr.Bernard Eager, the names of those who had died since last year, were read out.

After the Mass, the members were reminded of the Special Day of Prayer on Mercy Foundation Day, December 12th, also the feast of our Lady of Guadalupe. This will begin with Mass in St. John Stone's Church, Woodvale, Southport at 10:00, followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and devotions. For further details click here

The the usual "comfortable cup of tea" followed, accompanied by a very generous buffet, provided by Margaret Davies, in whose house the Mass took place. The Group are very grateful to her for her wonderful hospitality.

Before departing,the Group prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet, saying each decade for a particular intention.

The next meeting of the Group will be on January 9th.2012 at 2:00pm in 594 Liverpool Road, Southport.
