1. Novena for 11th November
Anniversary of Catherine's Death
(Commencing 2nd November)
As we approach the Anniversary
of Catherine McAuley's death,
we remember her
and all our Sisters and Associates
who have given their lives
in the service of others.
We pray for each of us, that we
may be a steady influence
for good on this earth.
We pray for trust in God's providence
during times of doubt and difficulty.
We pray for Sisters of Mercy
throughout the world
and for their Associates and Helpers
that Catherine's life and death
may continue to call
us to embrace the spirit of
hospitality and service.
We make this prayer through
Christ Our Lord.
Amen.

2. Novena for December 12th
Foundation Day
(Commencing 3rd December)
On the 12th December 1831,
Catherine McAuley, Mary Ann
Doyle and Mary Elizabeth Horley
professed their vows as Sisters of Mercy,
thus establishing the new Institute.
Grateful for their generosity
and inspired by their example
we pray for the Institute of the
Sisters of Mercy and their Associates.
Bless and protect us, merciful
God, so that our performance of
the works of Mercy
may be animated by charity and zeal.
May those who are called to
leadership serve the common
good with courage and compassion.
May our Benefactors, Associates and
Helpers share in the fruits of
the good works which they enable.
We make our prayers
through Christ Our Lord.
Amen.
